Hello my lovelies. I hope you’ve all had an enjoyable weekend. Mine was lovely and quiet. I spent many hours prepping and sewing a block for my “A” is for Appliqué project. Here’s a little peek at the finished block …..
It seems that altogether I have my dozen blocks for this project. I still need to do some simple stitchery work on a few of those blocks. Once the blocks are all joined together forming the quilt top, I will add other embellishments such as mother of pearl buttons, vintage lace, Yo-Yos and anything else that might give it a good old fashion vintage look. I added stitchery work to four of those blocks on Sunday, the top three and middle block on the bottom of the photo …..
And these have yet to have their stitchery work added to them …..
I find that my simple bocks need a little something to lift them and that something such as a little bit of a running stitch framing some of the patches is working really well. I wish I had taken photos before I added that little bit of stitchery work to show you that it does make a difference making worth the effort.
I spent quite a lot of time on my own this past weekend. Sarah had a couple of outings leaving me home alone. We spent many months clinging to each other while we were going thru the ordeal of negotiating and making my current marital status official. We are finally getting to grips with rebuilding our changing lives. We both have a social life and goals for our future. For me, rebuilding has proven quite difficult because I lived such a sheltered controlled life for almost a quarter of a century. My new-found freedom is starting to show in my designs and especially in the way I am wrapping up UFOs. I need to finish the UFOs and put them behind me so I can well and truly move on to new and better creations. Life truly is shaping up to be something rather interesting for me.
So, I guess that’s my report for today. I hope you all have a super cosy evening doing something relaxing. Until next time,
Let’s all keep on stitching.

Hi Pamela, I get pretty excited when I see how much progress I’m making and how much I like the results. I thought I would be the only one who liked what I was doing. I no longer look for perfection, I just enjoy the process. Thank you for your very kind words today x

Good day to you, Lucie!
“My Quilt”, is just what I thought it would be, but the best is yet to come, n’est pas? Apply your hand, leave your mark, tell a story, show yourself what you can do. It is going to be wonderful. I have all the faith in the world in you, dear heart. Your new life? The greatest surprises are yet to come! In great abundance. This is why I came along, to help you finish this special piece, it was meant to be.
Laugh with great abandon, today. Walk in the sun, and in time, there will be nothing that will be able to hold you down. Hopefully someone is reading this…..tien tois….ha ha.
Joanna, hugs to Maisie.

I love seeing how you are moving this hand project forward. Your creativity shows in every stitch. Your life is changing, and your art is changing little by little as well. I hope your threads don’t tangle tomorrow in some kind of challenge, and that the sun will shine in your garden! Freedom is an incredible thing!

Hi Mary, fortunately my thread didn’t tangle yesterday. It was a great day even though the weather wasn’t very co-operative. Freedom is an incredible thing for sure x
