END OF THE WEEK REPORT

Hello my lovelies. I hope you’ve all had a super day. Can you believe the work week is over??? That’s another week behind us. And you may or may not know that this is another Bank Holiday Weekend for us in the England. I’m looking forward to lazing around this weekend. I have a couple of movies on DVD that I would like to watch and I have one or two templates ready to be traced to turn into a block. I’m really hoping for some sunshine so I can get out in the garden to do a little more work. I had the hedge trimmer contraption running this morning to trim a shrub in my front garden first thing this morning. So, at least one corner of my garden is looking food at the moment!!!

I have been busy with one thing and another this past week. I did a little bit of machine quilting on my domestic sewing machine …..

I quite enjoyed my little machine quilting session. My Christmas project now looks like this …..

It’s not quite finished yet. I need to add a few buttons and then I plan on turning it into a cushion cover. I’m hoping to get this particular project finished this weekend because I have two and a possible third Christmas project to add to it. Variety is the spice of life.

Who doesn’t love flowers in the house? I’m sure there will be one or two of you who don’t enjoy cut flowers for one reason or another. I happen to love flowers in my living room. And my favourite flowers happen to be in season as the moment. The Peony is my absolute favourite flower. It’s a shame that it’s in season for such a short time.

Speaking of flowers, has anyone been watching the Chelsea Flower Show highlights on the BBC TV stations this week? I love watching the highlights as it gives me a chance to see plants I’ve never heard of. Who knows there might one or two plants that might do better in place of my giant ferns. Speaking of ferns, I really need to dig up at least one more fern from my front garden soon. I would like to replace the giant ferns with something that flowers which is also good for cutting. I have plenty of foliage plants but not nearly enough flowering plants at the moment. Everything will get done in time.

So, I guess that’s my report for today. It’s been a really good week in my little world. I’m going to make sure that my weekend is as relaxing as can be. I hope you all have a super cosy evening and very good and interesting weekend. Until next time,

Let’s all keep on stitching.

  1. Good morning, Lucie. The pillow cover is really nice, I like it very much. Buttons will be tree ornaments? Anyway, really cute idea. Would also make cute bags, with handles, could be great gifts or fund raising idea. You are such a wonderful sewer. Peonies are still in bud here a long time to go yet, the Lilac is out in full bloom and it scents the air in the neighborhood. Yours are so feminine, delicate aren’t they? The perfume is amazing from Peonies. Wish we could bottle it.LOL It has been shown and proven, that cut flowers in a room change the space and mental space, also. So, enjoy! I will look up the flower show, thanks. So, saying all that, have a super week end, enjoy the films, garden, flowers and sewing. Take care, Hi Sarah! Hugs to Miss Maisiexxx

    1. Thank you for your kind words Joanna. I agree my tree block would make a great bag. Have a super weekend. I hope the weather is kind to you. We’re experiencing blustery wet weather at the moment. Sunday should be good though. Thanks for popping in today x

  2. Just read something that might help when you are doubting stuff in life.
    “Start by doing what’s necessary;
    Then do what’s possible;
    And suddenly you are doing the impossible.”
