Hello my lovelies. I hope you’ve all had a super weekend. Yesterday was a bank holiday here in England. It was lovely to pull into the slow lane and watch the scenery for a day. Not only was yesterday a bank holiday but this week is a mid-term break for the schools as well. I suspect that a lot of families decided to go to the sun for a week-long break. So, I guess it will be quiet around here for the duration of the week.

So let’s jump to the sewing progress. The only progress I can show you at the moment is this …..

I added a few buttons to my Christmas project. And I managed to find some fabric in my stash to use for the cushion envelope. I was determined to use something from my stash to complete my Christmas projects, and I found something for each of my three projects.

I can’t believe that it’s almost the end of May already. Where on earth have the weeks gone. Speaking of the end of May ….. today is May 29^th, it’s Lucie Landing Day. I arrived in the UK 25 years today!!! A whole quarter of a century. All those years ago when I was so green and shiny I thought life was going to be a fairy tale. I worked hard to get to where I am today. Over the last couple of years, I take every opportunity to celebrate to positive stuff. I think I shall crack open a bottle of wine to toast this anniversary.

The progress in my garden is coming on a treat. I had a little stroll in my wee garden this afternoon to see what I could see. I found some Aquilegia in different colours …..

And some wild geraniums that self-seed themselves every year. My favourite is the deep purple one …

And last, my very favourite flower, the lowly peony which is still not ready to flower. We’ll need a bit more sunshine before these flowers burst into blooms. Everything is lush green at the moment. It’s the best time of year for greenery.

Here’s photo of a postcard which I believe my Sarah purchased for me a while back. I walk past this postcard every single day because I tacked it to the wall …..

What this postcard says to me is that anything worth having is worth the effort and patience is definitely a virtue.

So, I guess that’s my report for today. I’ve been busy with a whole lot of stuff for which I have not made enough progress to show you yet.
